I was watching planes take off when I received a call from Aisyah asking me to play soccer for her team the following day. They were one man short. She convinced me they were just out to have fun, and turned out I didn't have to be afraid of being a liability- they were a bunch of cool, fun-loving girls! I knew no one but Aisyah, and collectively, we were strangers who never trained/played together. I had this sinking feeling somewhere in the middle of the first game I was gonna disappoint Aisyah, Sha, Fie, and Meizhen. Seemed like they'd played soccer their whole lives. I felt dumb, and not knowing where the ball went after I headed subsequently proved it.
Things got much less terrifying after that, after the girls patiently explained to me what soccer was all about and I tried copying what everyone else was doing (with mixed results- had the whistle blown a couple of times on me for rough play). Aisyah made many awesome saves (without gloves)! Fie, Zhen and Sha scored beautifully during penalty while I missed a shot (kick?). Scored 3 lousy goals though. Meeting and having football-crazy Stepho (match-fixer match-fixer match-fixer hahahaha) tell me I didn't suck for a noob was a boost. With no game plan or reserves, we were top 8 contenders for La Diva Cup. (:

After the first knockout win.

We didn't get the medals, but coming that far in those circumstances was really nice. We had SOMUCHFUN playing Bossaball (volleyball on trampolines!) after that!

Laughing too much over people and missing/torn things, anything can love!
I'm so glad I abandoned all plans (including touch!) on that day for a sport I had never ever played before or know much about, and wouldn't choose any other people to play it with if I could do it all over again. I escaped with these:

but who knows what more the hols will bring?

Today I'm gonna lead a simple life, with a simple calendar to reflect on how today has been a departure (oh my, that word) from the usual hokeypokeying about town after work. The best memory I have since the last inactivity was of me stuffing myself. And seting Wanyu up for gobbling challenges just to feel better about my bottomless pit of a heeeuge tummy. There were 2 rounds of Analakhshmi before Frolick and Marmalade Pantry all in the day Rachel drove us to hollandais v. Seafood at changi village with Amin's girl and Tan after Sundown day. Naan at Desker with Hilmi. Simpang food made us sub out 2 minutes into the game, oh why. We don't stop eating, of course. Finished one Swensen's apple and banana crumble each while Kempro took over my latecoming duty. There was ice-cream at Udders with the Elites. We played Taboo while Jane and her captain tried fixing her dead car battery. Which thankfully took its own life only after Tri safely drove us there. At this point I wonder why I bothered getting a licence when clearly, my friends are dandy drivers.

Gossip(y) girls.
It was a short and hilariously fun night, something I wish I had more of. Times are so crazy, I haven't had time to realise Stamp grows, because he's an animal.
Siam Kitchen was a letdown yesterday. We had Ice Cream Chefs which totally made up for it. Ate two whole pizzas and half a wok of macaroni at home. I gained weight, something I suspect I've been doing since the last time I bothered weighing myself last year. I'll start by um, not drinking bubble tea everyday. And emulate Clare the runfreak. We clocked in a good kinda crap the other day at the stadium, hobopassion!
In preparation for when I tour with HSM on their ice tour, hobos and I went skating.

Wobblewobble.

My version of Zac sliding across floor.
I told Mme Erasmus of my enduring wish of shaving my head. She excitedly (typically) told us of her own amazing experience and put Sof and I to the challenge of finding the youtubevid of her taken by her husband. I scared the stalker out of me when I actually got it with two keywords and Sof didn't.
Sucha beauty.
So the most productive thing I did over the past few weeks was matchmaking. I'm sure Chawang's matchmakers had it tougher, though.
The importance of a warm-up prior to exercise cannot be overemphasized I should learn. Bloody aches.
C'est dur pour moi mais j'essaie.
