"..the team sport of the future, combining the running of soccer with the stamina of hockey and the cutting, jumping and passing of basketball..." The National Post, Canada
The best part about this sport *is* really defined by its name- ultimate. The spirit of the sport is quite unlike any other. Players call on fouls (including their own) because there aren't referees. Of course, that's not always a good thing. We're humans after all, competitive humans who cannot claim to be unfailingly fair. But we try.
We came in second after some good fight.

Muddy muddy muddy grass!(:
Roy: (on whether he was going for team post-party) No, my girlfriend is sick.
Alex: Alcohol is anti-bacterial.
Now that season is over, back to the ball I go. My first time touching the ball during training in ages. I have got a lot of ground to cover (so to speak). Pretty anxious about my next move, which explains why I was in my danger zone yesterday night. To commit to the school team? To continue with club training? To get as serious about ultimate as I have been with touch? To give up touch altogether? I can't keep switching sports with their seasons, even though there are SO many things I wanna learn about both, cos let's face it- my grades are sliding.
Speaking of games and grades, a number of friends have wondered why I had so much time and suggested that I tried mugging. To think of it, if not training, I'll be playing pool or arcade games with Syafiq. The dragging of a reluctant him has to precede, though, cos I'm always game(hurhur) for anything else but slogging. They never revealed what happened to jack/jill when it's all play and no work. Fadly says the only time 'yatay' and 'study' are in the same sentence is when 'doesn't' comes in between. Luckily, my educator of a hedgehog is doing his best to make corrections to that statement. :)

Somewhere between the laughs, long talks, really stupid little fights, and all the jokes.....

I fell in love.

How did I get through all those tests, presentations, and term papers with my 2-second attention span? I don't know, but I did, and so I know life won't break me! :) Now that I've come out relatively unscathed (save for a week-old stye in my eye, do not wonder where that came from), time to put things in order.
A is for Angkor Wat.
One of my lifelong dreams coming true. Tickets booked, route undefined. Just the way I like it. Can't wait for temple fatigue!:)
B IS FOR BRIAN MCKNIGHT.
Now, I had only mentioned I wanted him to sing at my wedding for just about a thousand times. Seems like I'll never have to face the sobering truth now. Impossibility erased: catching him live Tuesday night. He stole my heart. I could feel my heart strings tugged at The Only One For Me (no favourite song bias there). HE WAS BEYOND INCREDIBLE. I would never say this otherwise, but it really felt like I was in heaven.
Had to refrain from acting out my fangirl fantasies, though. I caught Mcknight with my knight. Which could only be desirable, of course. What better way to express myself (not that I ever needed much help, but love ain't a trivial matter, and BOY was love aplenty!) ?
If you think this is as good as it gets
I swear you haven't seen nothing yet. :D
There was no other place I would have rather been at that night. I thought life would never be complete without witnessing the most amazing singer. Having the love of an amazing man, now that's something else.
The best night of my life, I daresay!
C is for championships.
Varsity playoffs this weekend and the next.

At this point, I couldn't have asked for more.

I still remember the day I fell in love with the disc. An all-noob lineup winning the IFG. I checked myself into MuddyGrass and the rest is (going to be!) history.
Being new to this sport is one thing. Being put in a superteam for the league was quite another. Meeting these girls from all walks of life, and having had the privilege to learn and play alongside the girlgreats, were truly humbling. At the beginning, I felt like I was their weakest link in this put-together group of world-changing babes who threw head-turning spins. Most of this season, I'd flinch when either of the captains made me mark someone intimidating. I would make a cut, second-guess myself, and turn my back. So many times, I'd steadfastly stick to my assigned position, never daring to stick out a finger or make a dive for the opposition's possession. Andrea would go "come on, you could so get that!". It took me a long while before I realised she was absolutely right. I could do it if I wanted it bad enough. Today, I was not afraid of anything!:)
On the most important day of our shared lives (it has been a third of a year!), everything was just different. A good different. XY made a layout defence, Vivien did a layout score, Andrea grabbed our most final point with a huck from XY, and I defended with MY BUTT! Everyone shone, it was just truly brilliant to see everyone want it so bad and to see THAT reflected in play.
From being undefeated for all games this season and winning league championship to staying unbeaten on the finals itself, we slushed in the mud to be..

These girls have more punch than girl power itself. They're superb off and on-field. Our captains? The best anyone could ever ask for, leading with love and fun!
No one shall forget our ear-busting cheer song every single game! To the tune of flintstone's,
Flickstones, we're the Flickstones,
and we're really gonna win this game...
which finally changed to this:
Flickstones, we're the Flickstones,
and we really had an awesome league
Flickstones, we're the Flickstones,
and we really are a champion team!!!
YABBADABBADOO!
one two three,
FLICKSTONES!!!
So happyyyyyyyyyy!!:D

Too true.
Your view on yourself:
You are down-to-earth and people like you because you are so straightforward. You are an efficient problem solver because you will listen to both sides of an argument before making a decision that usually appeals to both parties.
The type of girlfriend/boyfriend you are looking for:
You like serious, smart and determined people. You don't judge a book by its cover, so good-looking people aren't necessarily your style. This makes you an attractive person in many people's eyes.
Your readiness to commit to a relationship:
You prefer to get to know a person very well before deciding whether you will commit to the relationship.
The seriousness of your love:
Your have very sensible tactics when approaching the opposite sex. In many ways people find your straightforwardness attractive, so you will find yourself with plenty of dates.
Your views on education
Education is very important in life. You want to study hard and learn as much as you can.
The right job for you:
You have plenty of dream jobs but have little chance of doing any of them if you don't focus on something in particular. You need to choose something and go for it to be happy and achieve success.
How do you view success:
You are confident that you will be successful in your chosen career and nothing will stop you from trying.
What are you most afraid of:
You are concerned about your image and the way others see you. This means that you try very hard to be accepted by other people. It's time for you to believe in who you are, not what you wear.
Who is your true self:
You are full of energy and confidence. You are unpredictable, with moods changing as quickly as an ocean. You might occasionally be calm and still, but never for long.
And no, evaluation apprehension had NOTHING to do with my answers (now ain't that testament to the second last point).

I haven't stepped on the field for close to a week and I don't feel like myself.
Spent yesterday evening reading up 8 freakings slides (of over 70 pages EACH) on planets, asteroids, orbits, and had fun doing the test today (after a whole night of beating myself over missing training!). Got me believing the invigilator had me on a VLT when she announced to the whole hall: "The answer for 'The alternating light and dark bands on Jupiter are _________' is NOT 'its characteristic features'. Got everyone laughing but made perfect sense to me, the one who spaces out in astronomy class. Today, here I am, after an hour-long conversation in the car with Charms on how my measuring life's successes with medals is disabling, about to feel a strange sense of acknowledgement as I read up on the cases of patients with mental disorders, instead of perfecting my forehand at training.
Grades over goals. Took me a while, but that must be my first mature decision.

'Dik (short for adik, nothing else), when u going tokyo?'
Next text: 'Taiwan. Wrong.'
Next text: 'Salah. HK.'

Now that you know, HK was cool, mother! As you can see, and probably in dismay too, I got (way up) high.
I'm back. Back to the field, back to my torture corner at the study desk, back to being who I have to be. :)
